Dr. Bob

Dr. Bob founded Monday Night Basketball in 1975 and has played continuously since then. In four different decades, Bob has been seen hitting the 12-foot baseline jumper, running the fast break and playing very little if any defense. As the original guiding hand of Monday Night basketball, Bob crafted a disjointed group of unrelated players into a Parish institution of camaraderie, friendship and warmth. In the past several years his star has risen even higher as he has displayed through his actions that nothing can defeat a man of family, faith and fortitude.

Big Stud John

Big Stud John founded Monday Night Basketball in 1975 and has played continuously since then. He still holds the record for most points scored in a game, a season and a career in a blue Oxford shirt. Primarily a perimeter player, John often drives into the key before dishing off one of his patented no-look assists. In 30 years of action, no player can recall a time when John wasn’t smiling, laughing and complimenting a younger player. A devoted husband and father, John always finds time to stop by HQ, wherever that may be at the time, for “just one”. Monday Night Basketball is a more friendly, more fun group because of John’s presence.

The Czar

The Father of the Modern Game, the Czar took the Monday Night Game and introduced it to an entirely new generation of players and technology. Embracing both the game and the internet, Schwarz single-handedly made IMNBB a household name/logo and the “Parish’s Most Important Men’s Club”. On the court, Schwarz never saw a shot he didn’t like. Often disappointed but never discouraged, Schwarz “re-invented” the game as a no-pass, no-defense launching pad of “threes”. Selflessly, Tom often allows a marginal opponent to set personal and league scoring records. All kidding aside, the man’s heart and love for the institution and its members is the glue that holds this group together and makes it more than a game for all of us.
